This week on Top Gear Australia, the boys go 4 wheel driving from central Australia to Cairns in north Queensland. Thats 2,400kms in 7 days. Charlie goes for luxury in the Lexus LX 570, Warren jumps in the Range Rover Vogue TDV8, and Steve feels the power of Audi's Q7. Charlie also test drives the Mercedes SL 63 AMG and James Morrison is the star in a bog standard car.
On Top Gear Australia this week, Warren and Steve investigate the 'Toorak Tractor' phenomenon by taking a tractor down the streets of Toorak. Charlie takes the Audi R8 for a test on the Hamilton Island runway to test it's claim to be a 'practical supercar'. Steve also looks at the BMW 135 Coupé. The boys then take on the ultimate challenge when they attempt to build an amphibious car from an Audi. Shannon Noll is the "Celebrity in a Bog Standard Car".
The guys look to take a break and have a game of lawn bowls. Of course, this being Top Gear, they are using a Holden Astra instead of balls. Steve and Warren head to the outback to see which is better, satellite navigation or Aboriginal tracking skills. Steve also takes the HSV W427 for a spin around Holden's mysterious 'Proving Ground' in Lang Lang, Victoria and, iconic Australian actor Jack Thompson is our weekly "Celebrity in a Bog Standard Car".
At Top Gear Australia, the guys love a challenge. As such, they enter the Scrap Metal Challenge. The guys and their motoring masterpieces assemble at Oran Park for a race showdown.
